Windfall: 2000 text books for school & colleges

Schools and colleges in Sierra Leone will stand to benefit some 2000 text books from the United Kingdom.

This is part of a charitable gesture from two British nationals Nicolette Bench and Sheralyn Snaith, who made this dislosure during a meeting with Sierra Leone’s Deputy High Commissioner Tamba Mansa Ngegba at the offices of the Sierra Leone High Commission in West Central London.

The fiction and non-fiction books include: dictionaries, encyclopaedia and reading books for young audiences, which makes it impossible for students of all categories to benefit from the package.

“I am thrilled by what I saw in Sierra Leone during a recent visit and I believe there is need for me to contribute in this area,” said Sheralyn who was highly impressed by the support she got from a local journalist in Freetown.

Deputy High Commissioner welcomed the guests and their gesture and said his office will do everything possible to ensure that the items are delivered to the appropriate targeted beneficiaries.

Ngegba had already made contact with Sierra Leone’s First Lady Sia Koroma who had promised to give her best as long as the items are properly channeled through the appropriate authorities like contacting the High Commission.

The Deputy High Commissioner had also made contact with Mount Aureol Freight Services to help towards facilitating the shipping of the items into Sierra Leone.

Mount Aureol has been making significant contributions towards humanitarian projects into Sierra Leone over the years.
