“We cannot accept Isha Johansen’s election,” delegates and fans vow
Thirty three delegates who describe themselves as legitimate, and thousands of football fans loyal to Messrs Mohamed Kallon and Rodney Michael who were disqualified in the just concluded Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), have revealed to this paper that the August 3 SLFA election was fraudulent, falsified and politically motivated and that they have vowed to distance their clubs and association from either participating or watching SLFA organised matches across the country.
“From day one of the whole process the Minister of Sports, Mr. Paul Kamara, said that he will use his political power to disqualify all other candidate vying against Madam Isha Johansen, vowing that he will nullify the election if the Normalization Committee qualifies, Messrs Rodney Michael and Foday Turay who he called are notorious gamblers and Mohamed Kallon who he said is a drug addict,” the spokesman for aggrieved delegate said.
“We will not work with a crooked SLFA administration and that is why we have formed our own football association to run football across the country. And threat against any of our members is a threat against our clubs, fans and association and we will respond by making football ungovernable in the country,” he stressed.
He revealed that their newly formed Independent Football Association of Sierra Leone (IFASL) is situated around Campbell Street and it is represented in all regions and are now busy organising and canvassing for members.
As we were going to press last night we were informed that Messrs Mohamed Kallon and Rodney Michael were invited at State House yesterday for a family meeting but the outcome of the meeting was not known as at press time.

For God’s sake what is wrong with Sierra Leone when no selection should be without fighting. Allow the woman to operate and see what see can achieve. I dare say it will be a damn lot better than what has gone on for many years.

Be real she is a woman in a supposed man’s world. Africa women are in many times better than the male cabal. Good luck Madam Men accept it she is in charge – after all she is one of your daughters, wife or sister she deserves respect. We have seen an exploitative industry in the past learn to question and argue. What tells people they must start a resistance every time, accept defeat and tow the line – petulant boys
