Light at the end of the tunnel

Light at the end of the tunnel

For too long Sierra Leoneans struggled tooth and nail in their quest for a leader who connects and relates well with them. One who feels and shares their sorrows. They want a leader who inspires and gives them hope. Help them realize their dreams and aspirations.  (Photo: Mohamed K Mansaray)

Leaders from Albert Margai to-date have proven to be a big disappointment. They have caused shock and awe.

In their quest for this kind of leadership, Sierra Leoneans choose to go to the polls every five years to make choices. They do so with the expectation the exercise will bring them the desired changes. It will bring them a better life. Instead they continue to experience shock and awe. Making some of them believe they are destined to live a life of abundance. Others destined for poverty.  A pure fallacy.

Wrongfully, the choices have been made from within the establishment. People who in different forms have contributed to the backward and deplorable condition of the people and country. The country and people are in a plight of melancholy. The people are worried, disturbed, and saddened by everyday occurrences. Their lives are not getting better. They quietly, painfully, and grudgingly watch their children drop out of school, take to the streets, prostitute; teenage pregnancies at the increase. All of these becoming toxic in our society.

Circumstances have caused friction and fission. Parents have lost control over their children. Elders are no longer treated with respect. The spirit of love is fast waning. The government has woefully failed to provide a safety net to avert such unwarranted occurrences. We are consciously and deliberately ignoring the call of the scripture to be ‘ our brothers keeper’. Government officials pride themselves take pride in fattening their bank accounts with public funds. The peoples’ money. The peoples spirit lament for change.

Fellow Sierra Leoneans, this is our moment. We have to try something new. We have to do so with someone new and out of the system. Someone who measures political success with how much he can or has delivered to the people and country. Not someone who measures success with how long they want to stay in power. One who can restore the country to it rightful place on the international stage. Create jobs, implement no child left behind school program, free health care, and other basic necessities the country and people need so urgently.

Going through the records of the incumbent and most of the aspirants none fit this description. Most of them belong to the same old worn out establishment.

The good news is there is now a light at the end of the tunnel. This light is no other person than Mr. Mohamed K. Mansaray. He is presently the president of ‘ Patriotic Sierra Leoneans’. Helping to organise our communities in Sierra Leone. Paying fees for over two hundred students.

Fellow Sierra Leoneans, let’s try something new. The old ways didn’t work then. They won’t work now. We must seek a leader who inspires and gives us hope. A leader who will bring real change to our nation. Please let’s try Mr. Mohamed K. Mansaray.

Long Live Sierra Leone.

Long Live The People of Sierra Leone..
