PC drags 7 to court
Dauda Kallon (36), farmer of Mano Njoigbla village, Lansana Kallon (50), Saffa Ellie Kallon (55), Ansumana Saffa Kallon (50), Adu Kallon (70), and Brima Saffa Kamara,. all of Mano Njoigbla village, on Wednesday 31st July 2013 were arraigned before the acting principal magistrate of the Kenema magistrate court, Magistrate Alhaji Momoh Jah Stevens, on six (6) count charges ranging from conspiracy contrary to law, unlawful assembly contrary to law, riotous conduct contrary to section 12 (a) of the public order Act No. 46 of 1965, throwing missiles contrary to section 6 of the public order Act No 46 of 1965, threatening language contrary to section 3 (1) of the public order Act 46 of 1965 and public insult and provocation contrary to section 2 of the public order Act 46 of 1965.
According to the particulars of the offence, the seven citizens on Friday 12th July 2013 at Chinese Kingho Mining Exploration camp between Ngebwema and Gebiena village in the Tunkia chiefdom Kenema judicial district in the Republic of Sierra Leone conspired together with other persons unknown to commit a felony, that the accused persons were found unlawfully assembled together without authority, that the accused persons were acting in a riotous manner, that the accused persons were found throwing missiles at the Chinese exploration camp, that the accused persons used threatening language against the paramount chief Alhaji Jobo Gorway Sama with intent to provoke him to commit a breach of the peace and that the accused persons used certain insulting worlds to the annoyance of PC Alhaji Jobo Gorway Sama in order to provoke him to commit a breach of the peace. All the accused persons pleaded guilty of the offences against them and they were remanded at Kenema state prison. The matter is to come up again tomorrow whilst it was prosecuted by ASP Lahai of the Legal and Justice department of the Kenema police station.
