Pre-season friendly…Kamara to feature against Manchester

Sierra Leone International striker Alhassan Kamara (in photo) is expected to feature for AIK against English Premiership Champions Manchester United at the Friends Arena August 6th, 2013 in Stockholm as part of the Manchester United pre-season tour 2013.

Kamara 20, who started his career with local club FC Kallon, joins AIK from Bodens BK after an impressive loan spell with the Division 1 Norra side said

“I’m looking forward to feature against the English champions, one of Europe’s best, I am happy to be back and ready to help my team for the rest of the season”.

“Honestly I’m really pleased with my loan spell and what I did, we were good,” Kamara told Sierra Express Media Sport.

The match is going to be a solid test for the Sierra Leone striker and AIK managing director Thomas Edselius said: “From AIK’s side, we are looking forward to this opportunity to play against one of the most successful clubs in the world.  Our ambition is to consistently play in the European cups and we are therefore always interested in playing against top-level European clubs “.

The aggressive striker made 11 appearances for AIK during his first half of the 2012-season before was sent on loan in the summer to Orebro, where he made four goals in eight appearances.

On 24 January 2013 AIK announced that the fine goal getter was once again going t be loaned out to Örebro SK, for the rest of 2013.  However, his style of play and goal ratio, six goals in twelve matches, without doubt convinced AIK to call for his service for the rest of the 2013 season.

Kamara was back in AIK’s shirt after he reported for training July 7th, making the bench for July 15th against Syrianska.

His first international debut for Sierra Leone was against Cape Verde in 2014 World Cup qualifiers, and he is now a regular with the national side.

Meanwhile, Manchester United chief executive David Gill said: “I’m delighted that the final game of our preparations for the 2013/14 season will be in the magnificent new home of Swedish football. This match is our first against AIK and will provide a tough test for the players as the new campaign approaches.
