“KPMG Report Remains Inconclusive…” SLBC

Director General of the Sierra Leone Broadcasting Corporation (SLBC) said the recent KPMG report on his Institution was not able to capture all reality on the ground as it remains inconclusive.

Elvis Gbanabom Hallowell (in photo) was reacting to recent media bashing of the SLBC.

He described reports in the local tabloid as unfortunate as the publisher failed to obtain his own side of the story and rather stressed that the procurement process of the satellite was transparent and that National Public Procurement Authority conducted an investigation and discovered nothing.

The Director General revealed that the SLBC has successfully operated the satellite transmitter for the last two years and given the urgency in which the UN disconnected SLBC from their satellite in December 2010 it mandated the corporation to urgently secure a satellite transmitter that is currently benefiting Sierra Leone both in and out of the country in terms of coverage expansion.

Hallowell boasted that their equipment is state of the art and it has not given them any blink of malfunction.

He went on and disclosed that with help from Government they have been able to conclude business with Transtech International who are now procuring the final equipment to enable them get strong TV signals in the entire north including Kabala.

The DG reiterated that everything is going on successfully without any hitch and that they are satisfied with the positive response they are getting.
