Bonthe chairperson feeds over 900 pupils on exam day in Sierra Leone

Chairperson for the Bonthe District Council, Madam Rita N’gardi Savage, is said to have fed over 900 pupils that sat the National Primary School Examination on 4th May 2013.

The local council head informed this press that the gesture was an initiative that she would like to continue even in her absence, noting that parents of these pupils are mostly poor and cannot afford a meal for the children and she therefore thought it prudent to provide them with enough food during the examination period.

Madam Rita Savage also disclosed that all the candidates from the eleven sections of the council demonstrated their appreciation including those that reside in nearby villages who also received transport fares.

Madam Rita N’gardi Savage further informed that other members of her council were extremely pleased with her gesture and lauded her for complementing the agenda for prosperity.

Madam Rita N’gardi Savage also appealed to World Vision and other child friendly organisations to support the children of Bonthe for a brighter and better future and urged members of her council to work diligently to give Bonthe district a facelift.
