Sierra Leone Principal in massive corruption – to account for Le 27M

Latest reports reaching this press have indicated that the Principal of the Ansarul Islamic Secondary School in Mile 91, Tonkolili District, Northern Sierra Leone, James Sampha Kamara, is to account for Le 27 million he received from government in the 2008/2009 academic year, being monies meant for Girl Child Refund.

The reports further state that various pupils who are to receive the refund have made series of requests for the monies but to no avail.  Inside sources have revealed that one Mr. Moses K. Tarawalie, who has retired from the school and collected NASSIT pension, was still collecting partial salary from the principal before the retired man died in March this year.  Moses Tarawalie’s pin code number was 347382 on voucher number 27003.

In a related development, this medium has been informed that one Madam Tenneh A.P Koroma, who is now employed with the Ministry of Health and Sanitation in Port Loko District, is receiving salaries from the school voucher even though she is no longer teaching there. The school voucher number is 27003.

Our sources further disclosed that quite recently Principal Kamara was publicly molested by a group of persons for panting after one of his female pupils who got married to his former teacher who abandoned the school due to Mr. Kamara’s constant suppression and harassment.  The school is reported to be operating without a bursar as he serves as Principal, Vice-principal and Bursar simultaneously since he took office in 1994.

In spite of the huge population in the school, which is a Senior Secondary School, Mr. Kamara has deliberately refused to divide it into junior and senior sections just because he wants to continue monopolizing everything about the school.  Mr. Kamara is reported to be misusing the school fees with boastful impunity, having no regard for the board and never consulting any board member on school matters.

Our investigation has revealed that Mr. Kamara sold counterfeit BECE results to a particular pupil, name withheld, in the 2010/2011 academic year.

Responding to the catalogue of allegations, Principal Kamara accused this reporter of bias, boasting that he is not afraid of the Anti-Corruption Commission.
