WAAPP Improves its Monetary and Evaluation System in Sierra Leone
WAAPP organized a workshop at the Bintumani Hotel which started on Monday 29th April on the monetary and evaluation system. All WAAPP monitoring and evaluation officers of the 13 countries attended the workshop, the objective of which is to harness tools for monitoring and evaluation currently under development, share information among those responsible for monitoring and evaluation and improve upon the development of WAAPP monitoring and evaluation system.
Speaking to the Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist for Senegal, Francis Konu said that the monitoring and evaluation heads have come together to improve the project management on the monitoring and evaluation system of WAAPP. Two consultants are responsible for the monitoring and evaluation database, they are developing monitoring manual and developing database. By the end of this workshop, WAAPP is expecting that,
- The M&E tools and their formats are validated
- Roles and responsibilities of actors along the information chain are clarified
- The evaluation plan of data quality is developed and validated
- The draft of the M&E manual on regional procedures is developed and amended
- Indicators of the WAPP 2A result framework are reviewed and documented
- The operation of the computerized system and its implementation is presented and amended.
Francis Konu ended by saying that without monitoring and evaluation, project management can fail and WAAPP wants to ensure the M&E sustainability.
