Laurent Bonnet is 54 years old, a sailor and traveller. He fed his inspiration and his writing on meetings, listening and memory of others. He worked in Sierra Leone for many years and here, he shows his deep affection to this country, to its culture and to its inhabitants.
The book is preceded by a text composed and set in music by Morlai Bai Kamara Jr, poet and singer from Sierra Leone : Salone, homecoming. The clip has been recorded by Laurent Bonnet and Bai Kamara.
Salone is an adventure novel with the backdrop of love, diamonds and portraits of Sierra Leoneans who immersed the readers in a plot that mixed up both small stories and history.
Laurent Bonnet will be at the “72 hours of the book”, the book fair of Conakry the 25th and 26th April.
You can also meet him in Freetown, Sierra Leone, for several interventions from the 27th of April to the 1st of May including a conference at the University of Fourah Bay on 30th April.
