Sierra Leone Premier League former Board Chairman clears the Air
Former Chairman of the Sierra Leone Premier League Board, Victor Lewis (in photo), has told journalists that rumormongers are hell bent on assassinating his hard won reputation by circulating false, unfounded, and malicious allegations against him.
He made the statement past Tuesday at the United Methodist Church building, Percival Street, Freetown during a press conference which he convened to dismiss widespread allegations that while serving as FA Chairman he was involved in financial impropriety and had no football club.
Victor Lewis described the accusations as totally bogus and malice-oriented, deliberately designed by conspirators to stain his character, explaining that his board ran a two-round league of 182 matches with 470,229,000 million Leones while his predecessor ran just one league with 371,000,000 million Leones. He recalled that when he completed the 2011/2012 football league season amid financial difficulties, all premier clubs congratulated him except FC Kallon and Old Edwardians.
Victor noted that he has served in diverse capacities, currently Chairman of Belvic United Football Club for the past eight years and also Chairman of second division football club, Nothingam Forest, thus qualifying him to serve in whatever football capacity.
