Celebrating the Best of African Women
Women4africa is a UK registered organisation focused on celebrating and empowering Africa and its women by supporting and celebrating their role in their communities via Conferences, supporting education and Awarding prestigious awards, recognitions and special honours on such women identified and nominated by the public.
Women4africa works in 3 main areas to support African women and girls. They do this by working and supporting key charities, policymakers; engage communities and Africans themselves to address this crucial issue. To do this, they put together evidence-based projects focused on awareness raising and support, against the backdrop of their key areas of work.
This year’s ‘Women4Africa™ Awards UK 2013’ will be held on Saturday 18th May 2013 at ‘The Great Hall, Kensington Town Hall, Hornton Street, London, W8 7NX’.
Last year’s 2012 ceremony saw two Sierra Leonean award winners – Isha Johanssen won the award ‘Special Woman of the year,’ and Aminatta Forna won the award ‘Author/Blogger of the year.’
This year, Sierra Leone has three final nominees in the ‘Women4Africa™ Awards UK 2013’.
