Lungi-Port Loko Road to be completed soon, says ADB
Freetown, March (SLENA) – The African Development Bank (ADB) Resident Representative in Sierra Leone, Dr. Yero Baldeh has disclosed that the Lungi-Port Loko road will be completed 5th of June this year.
He made this disclosure during a courtesy call on the Minister of Works, Housing and Infrastructure at his New England office in Freetown.
Dr. Baldeh said the ADB had learnt lot of lessons from all their developmental projects in Sierra Leone and are now working in close collaboration with the Finance Ministry to enhance the capacity building of other ministries.
He noted that contract management is one of the key priorities to be improved upon and advised that government adds value to its monitoring and supervision of all its activities.
The Resident Representative called on government to urgently address the habit of using heavy loaded vehicles on that road by the African Minerals, adding that if not stopped it will cause serious damage to the road before completion.

Mr. Koroma spoke of his ministry’s determination to work assiduously to respond to the challenges of reforms needed in the Agenda for Prosperity.
The Permanent Secretary in the ministry, Augustine Sheku, assured that they as ministry would ensure that all targeted goals on development projects in Sierra Leone are met.
