Egyptian Ambassador assures Health Minister of continued support

Mr. Gamal Tawfik congratulated the Minister and her deputies for their new appointment and promised to work with them to improve the health care delivery system in the country.
The Egyptian Ambassador informed the Minister that 6 tones of assorted medicines have arrived in Freetown and presently at the Central Medical Stores awaiting presentation to the Ministry.
Mr. Gamal Tawfik told the Minister that through the Foreign Department of Egypt they have dedicated a set of machines for the treatment of water, but awaiting government to indentify a place for the installation by an Egyptian Engineer.
He disclosed that Sierra Leoneans are currently in Egypt pursuing training in safe motherhood, adding that Egypt will also be sending Specialist doctors to the country to assist in areas of interest by the government.
Responding, Health and Sanitation Minister, Madam Miatta Kargbo, thanked the Ambassador for his country’s continued assistance to the country, adding that with the Agenda for Prosperity, they have challenges bordering on human capacity building, among other key issues.
The arrival of the Egyptian medical doctors to assist in the development of the Health care delivery system, Madam Kargbo said is a welcome idea.
