SLPP women’s leader joins APC
The Sierra Leone People’s party (SLPP) Women’s Leader in Koinadugu District, Hawa Marah, has declared for the ruling All Peoples Congress (APC) during a mammoth meeting in Kabala Town on the 17th February, 2013.
The big meeting was convened in honour of the Minister of Trade and Industry, Alhaji Usu Boie Kamara, during his recent ‘Thank You Tour’ of the Koinadugu and Bombali Districts.
Speaking during her historic conversion, Hawa Marah stated that many top APC executive members were trying to convince her to cross-carpet to the APC but that she had been waiting for the consent of Usu Boie before taking the decision, describing Honorable Boie as a classical example of an honest and development-oriented politician who does not believe in telling lies.
“When I heard of the expulsion of Boie from the SLPP, a party which he promoted immensely, I shed tears and since he crossed to the APC I have been eagerly waiting to see him before following suit,” she remarked, adding that, “Boie’s presence in the APC is a blessing.”
Responding, Usu Boie thanked Hawa Marah for taking the wise decision and handed her over to the APC district executive in Koinadugu, calling on them to take good care of the new convert who he described as a diligent politician and a crowd puller.
