Sierra Leone Foreign Affairs Minister concludes tour of Tower Hill Complex

Freetown, (SLENA): Officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation have concluded a conducted tour of the new Foreign Affairs Ministry building at Tower Hill.

The tour was to assess challenges responsible for the delay for staff to occupy the new building.

This was disclosed by the Foreign Affairs Minister, Dr. Samura Kamara who said he new building will further strengthen the already cordial bilateral relation between the People’s Republic of China and Sierra Leone.

Dr. Samura Kamara said he is impressed with the building layout and facilities but however raised concern over maintenance and proper utilization of the building.

He said the gesture is an appreciation of the good relationship between the two countries, saying the construction of the building alongside the Jui Friendship Hospital, the Regent-Gratfon road and mini-hydro projects are flagship programmes that will continue to strengthen the relationship between the Peoples’ Republic of China and Sierra Leone.

Dr. Kamara said the major challenge is a transformer for the stabilization of electricity, which if addressed will allow the Ministry to move to its new premises.

The building, the Foreign Affairs Minister said, is a major achievement of the Government and adds value to its rebranding process.

The new five-storey building that will be housing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has two 500KVA generators, an apartment and parking lots, among other facilities.
