Rainbow Family Programme Provides 295 Scholarships
Mile 91, February 7 (SLENA): As part of its corporate social responsibilities, the management of the Rainbow Family Programme, a local Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) has provided scholarship to nearly three hundred pupils in various primary and secondary schools nationwide.
This was disclosed by the National Director of the programme, Mr. Muhamed Konto-Koroma during an exclusive interview with the SLENA on the current activities of his NGO at their Islamic Dawah Training Centre head office at Mile 91 in the Yoni Chiefdom, Tonkolili district.
The scholarship package, Mr. Konto-Koroma emphasized, covers among others, tuition fees, uniforms, housing and learning materials for the orphans, the destitute, and less privileged in society.
He assured that this educational support which started from the primary level will continue until the beneficiaries complete their university education.
The National Director said the educational programme is supported by a group of Sierra Leoneans in and outside the country.
The organisation, Mr Konto-Koroma added, is constructing a four classroom junior primary school at Masorie on the outskirt of Mile 91 in the Kendema section, adding that work on the construction of an administrative complex comprising of principal, vice principal, secretary and staff room is simultaneously going on that campus.
This educational institution, the Rainbow Family boss reiterated, will commence next academic year as the first private school in the Yoni Chiefdom.
