National Federation of Farmers of Sierra Leone brace up for Excellence
The National Federation of Farmers of Sierra Leone has assured this medium that in order to accomplish the “Agenda for Prosperity” they have taken the lead in a nationwide tour in all 12 districts of the country.
Speaking to this medium at their 33 Hill Street office, off Wesley Street in Freetown over the weekend, the President of the organization, Mr. Jessie Olu John pointed out that through the support of World Bank Project sponsored by the Global Action for Food Security (GAFSP), they were able to complete a nationwide tour in all districts to engage in close door sensitization with their members.
Mr. Jessie Olu John thanked the Government through the Agriculture ministry for its support over the past years, adding that as their organization is geared towards meeting the food security target.
He said adding value to their products for international market is another dream they wish to make a reality and highlighted several challenges for which they have put mechanisms in place to address those challenges.
On his part, the Secretary General of the Federation, Mr. Mohamed S. Kebe said they are partnering with four members organizations that make up one umbrella known as the United National Federation of Farmers in Sierra Leone. These include the National Farmers Co-operative, National Farmers of Association of Sierra Leone, District Women Farmers Co-operative and the Farmer Free School and Agricultural Business Unit.
