CHO undermines President Koroma’s Free Medical Health Care Initiative in Sierra Leone

Latest reports reaching this press allege that the Community Health officer (CHO) at Susan’s Bay health unit, Madam Alice Tamba is undermining the free medical health care initiative.

According to sources,  since Madam Alice Tamba was transferred to the Susan’s Bay Clinic over a year ago, her relationship with staff and patients has not been cordial and she allows untrained and unqualified volunteers, namely, Musu Bangura, Kadie Dankay, and Fatmata to administer treatment to patients.

The source pointed out that Tamba is in the habit of allowing nurses to do deliveries on pregnant women under dimly lit rooms using Chinese made lamps instead of using NPA facilities which have been installed there for such purpose.

According to nurses that spoke to this press on condition of anonymity, Madam Alice Tamba is using the community health clinic as a residence for her and her family members.

Meanwhile, this press is calling upon the Health Ministry to put mechanisms in place to discourage Madam Alice Tamba from undermining President Koroma’s free medical health care initiative.
