SLRTC Tow MP’s Vehicle

The Sierra Leone Road Transport Corporation (SLRTC) last Thursday towed the vehicle of honorable member of parliament N’Jajua of Constituency (07).

The incident occurred at Wilkinson Road, Freetown, in the presence of the Honorable. Wardens revealed that the car was at fault as he had (the Hon) parked in a non-parking area. In his defense to the warden, the Honorable said he is not at fault with any traffic related offence. He explained, his car was parked off the road so that he could in a short while deliver an envelope to the UNDP head office.

Registering his dismay, the Honorable noted that even though he tried pleading to the warden and explained his peril, the warden refused him clemency.  He furthered not even him identifying his position in society; including his number plate tagging his honorable status could quell the embarrassment.

Honorable N’jajua opined further that trying to get contacts of the said wardens was daunting. He noted he was instead directed to pay the sum of Le500,000 at their office if car was to be returned.

  • Fire the first shot for the end of that era of yester years – Do you who I am? Let the people do their jobs and let us have peace of mind that the institutions are more powerful than the individuals.
