In Kambia, Sierra Leone – Over 500 teachers go without salary and pin code
Over 500 teachers in Kambia are currently serving without pin code while on volunteer teaching service.
This was highlighted by the Regional Chairman of the Sierra Leone Teachers Union (SLTU) Mr. Gibril Conteh while calling on the Government and other stakeholders to help salvage the plight of colleagues in the northern provincial district of Kambia.
Mr. Gibril Conteh, however, commended the Kambia District Council and other line government institutions for their relentless support to teachers in that part of the country. Mr. Gibril Conteh said education of the girl child is a success story noting that from J.S.S. 1-3 the Education Ministry is doing well in the area of payment of school fees to ensure that they opt for quality education and entreated parent to see reasons to send their children to school for a brighter future.
Meanwhile Gibril Conteh was recognized with a meritorious certificate awarded by the Media Alliance for National Development in Sierra Leone for his contributions to education in that part of the country.
Mr. Gibril Conteh pointed out that his certificate of merit has handed more feathers to his cap. He commended the entire people of Kambia for their vision and role in society.
