LUC guarantees security

The Local Unit Commander of Bo west division, Richard Sahr Marka over the weekend at his Dambara Road office told a cross section of journalists that the police of Bo west division are in readiness to police post elections and assured the people of Bo district of maximum security. He said he will do everything possible to maintain peace after the November general elections.

The LUC said his personnel are ready to work round the clock to secure his jurisdiction now that there is adequate logistics. He encouraged members of the press to be steadfast and professional in the discharge of their function and further urged security personnel to discharge their duties judiciously for the safety of the people of the region.

LUC Richard Sahr Marka disclosed that the police depend on the civilian populace in combating crime in their communities. He therefore called on the general public to divulge relevant information to the nearest police for immediate redress.

He commended the District Security Committee (DISEC), the Local Policing Partnership Board (LPPB) and the media for their continued support in the maintenance of law and order in the district and the country in general.

The LUC further disclosed that there has been a massive reduction in crime within the Bo west division and region as a result of a robust police night patrol and called on the police to be professional in discharge of their duties thereby maintaining the standard of the police force in Sierra Leone.

He disclosed that the fire force and prisons have been complimenting the efforts of the Sierra Leone Police during elections whilst the Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces (RSLAF) has been on standby under the MAC-P.

He called on all to remain calm as there is no cause to alarm.
