Kenema Council in Reformation
The Chief Administrator of the Kenema District Tamba Sahr Musa on Thursday 22 November 2012 told journalists at his Kenema district council office at Nyadeyama Road, Kenema city, eastern Sierra Leone that he took over the council in a messed up condition from the out gone Chief Administrator C P J Kallon and his chairman Patrick Samu, and that in his capacity as a very good administrator and the administrative head of the council he sees that there is a need for the reformation of the council so that it will maintain its required standard. C A Musa reiterated that councils were created by an act of Parliament as part of decentralization which is to bring development to their localities and that if the council is corrupt there will be no development. As part of his reformation drive the Chief Administrator is focusing on down sizing staff that are of no use in the council but are collecting salaries.
In his statement the newly transferred finance officer Patrick Kamara said that when he took office there were lot of problems with regards the financial statement of the council which he has already overcome.
