Sierra Leone November 17: ‘OR PA OR PONG’

Yesterday turned out to be a red day in Freetown as the capital city witnessed throngs of enthusiastic APC youths and the elders alike masquerading the main streets in an ecstatic confidence that their darling president Koroma has already gained a second term of office. With political garnering cum national slogan that the ‘pa de wok’ coupled with the slogan ‘the world best’ in Sierra Leonean politics it looks certain that the elections result are already over and we are only waiting for the constitutional formality to be fulfilled through the ballot boxes.

The crowd-poll and mammoth support of over 80% of the voters population now parading and demonstrating their love for a man they say ‘Sierra Leone Worth One Good Man’s Praise’ is not just an understatement but a statement of fact. When one attempts to capture the picture of red across the country, you could be tempted to say that there is no other political colors left in the country only the ‘color of the rising sun.’

This cannot be farfetched, especially with the personality leading the APC party, from the political strongholds of the SLPP in the South/East unto the political strongholds of the APC in the North the aura of a new political wind is blowing in this nation wherein we have put aside the political stronghold phraseology, to a one borne out off the spirit and conscience of true leadership and national instinct.

Today we dance as a nation not as a partisan-man; we rally for the first time in our young democracy with the power of our Unity, Freedom, and Justice, which are the true belief of our forefathers. If our fore-bearers fail to practicalze it we will sell it to the next generation to embrace change and hope, kicking aside hopelessness.

Today we herald a new history as people unite under one umbrella in changing our destiny through the leadership of Ernest Bai Koroma.
