We Must Forget the Past and Prepare for the Future

The writing is clearly on the wall, that a family without peace is a family that is not destined to succeed.

For quite too long the football family has been split into various camps which have helped destroy our progress in international competitions like the U-17, U-20, U-23, female football and the senior national team.

Since we heard about the election of the next FA president there has been bad blood in the game which has undermined our qualification for South Africa 2013 Nations Cup.

The pulling down syndrome of Black Sierra Leoneans preferable than white Sierra Leoneans, match-fixing scandal in the name of black mailing high profile stakeholders, banning of sports journalists to watch international matches, players fighting for either Hummel or Joma Jersey and politicizing football candidates for FA Presidency must all stop now and we begin to concentrate on how to qualify Leone Stars to Brazil 2014 World Cup!

The personnel fighting above the country will bring no development or success to Sierra Leone football until it is realized that we all belong to one football family and must work hand in glove if we want to shine internationally.

My advice to all football stakeholders is to ceasefire and work in the interest of mama Salone.

Mind you, FA Presidential election is slated for January 2013 and Leone Stars will be having a crucial and make or break World Cup encounter match against Tunisia that eliminated us from the Nations Cup competition.  Are we going to allow more enmity in football, and allow government to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars without achievement?

Think twice and let us all work together as one for the good of the game, Lonta.
