APC Mayor Candidate Strategizes With Ex-Aspirants

Sam Franklyn Gibson lauded former aspirants for their various contributions to his election as well as their invaluable efforts to the success of the party and catalogued the difficulties involved in the award of the party symbol but acclaimed President Ernest Koroma, the Electoral College and other stakeholders for the careful selection of aspirants at a family meeting, reminding them that there are numerous other lucrative opportunities open to members of the party apart from being a Mayor.
He further commended all APC Chairmen in the Freetown municipality for their relentless efforts to ensure that the party wins majority of the seats in the pending polls and appealed to aspirants not to rest but to work together as one firmly united family to ensure a resounding second term victory for the party irrespective of the minor differences among members, a phenomenon not unique to the APC.
Winston Ojukutu-Macauley, one of the aspirants asserted that President Koroma has contributed immeasurably to transform the country and pledged his unflinching support to Mr. Gibson.
The other aspirants spoke in similar vein with the latter calling on his supporters to come out in their numbers to vote for Mr. Gibson underscoring that the APC is a grassroots party.
Other aspirants pointing out that the APC believes in democratic principles as they congratulated Mr. Gibson for his victory and stressed the need to unify the party maintaining that the battle ahead is to ensure victory for the party.
The singing of songs of victory climaxed the ceremony.
