Fourah Bay Youths Go Berserk
On Monday October1, the youths of Mount Aureol, Dan Street, Upper Savage Square, Fata Rhaman, and Fourah Bay in Constituency104, claiming to belong to the ruling All Peoples Congress (APC) party barricaded Savage Square with burning vehicle tires in protest of the award of party symbol to Hon Tunde Lewally to contest the parliamentary seat in the upcoming elections. These irate youths claimed that Lewowo, as he is fondly called, did not achieve anything whatsoever for the past five years of representation.
The protesting youths explained further that Lewally’s relationship is not cordial with the people of his constituency.
They also alleged that Lewally has deliberately absented himself from several meetings and always boasted that with or without their support he will be awarded symbol and subsequently win the parliamentary race in November 17th.
One of the protesters that spoke to our ace reporter said Lewally has even boasted that he constructed a party office for the APC in Fourah Bay and the symbol is a show of gratitude towards his gesture!
Local Unit Commandant J.A. Gbonnoh, however, confirmed to this press that the police acted on a distress call and quickly quelled the inferno without much ado, although no arrests were made.
Tunde Lewally has decided to keep his cards close to his chest and could not react to the impasse.
