As Sierra Leone’s Parliament fades out…President Koroma Smiles Bright
President Ernest Bai Koroma on Tuesday September 25th, delivered a heart-felt speech as he toed the well of parliament in the last hours of his five years reign in office.
The president delivered a solemn message that captured both friends and foes alike, as he catalogued his hallmark of success and challenges in his five years rein of governance. In a captioned phraseology the President began by calling on all Sierra Leoneans to board his moving train bound for the ‘Agenda of Prosperity’.
He said notably amongst the social and economic realities that he inherited from his forbearer he has been able to change the tides that once exposed the nation as the poorest, to one of the most enviable in terms of economic opportunities, business friendly environment for investors and many more.
He argued that within this shortest period of five years of political governance, he has transformed the policy of intention to realities, in which he prioritized five key areas, namely Agriculture, Energy, Infrastructure, Healthm and Education. Which he says have been underpinned with prudent economic measures that have attracted economic detonation in the private sector investments, which currently puts the country’s as the second hottest economy in the global village according to index rating.
He said this result go alongside with the robust Anti-Graft Agency which he empowers with stringent laws in checkmating the social integrity morals of public and civil servants. The president thanked the spirit of democracy, which he says has heralded him as the unblemished gem in the history of the nation, of not carrying-out any judicial or extra judicial killings, up-keeping 100% tenets for freedom of speech, assembly, and political tolerance.
In his last message he called on all to embrace the spirit and dictate of our existence by the words of keeping the Unity, Freedom, and Justice which every Sierra Leonean has sworn to protect in the comings days.
