Traditional Healers embark on non-violent campaign
Members of the Sierra Leone Indigenous Traditional Healers Union (SLITHU) headed by Dr. Alhaji Sulaiman Kabba (in photo) have added a voice in campaigning towards peaceful non-violent elections on November 17, this year. They held an entourage of stakeholders in a meeting on Sunday September 23 at the east end Big Time Entertainment Complex at Poyo bar, Calaba town where they stood clear in terms of not condoning their members on acts and tendencies of violence in the forthcoming elections.
SLITHU President Kabba underscored the fact that his union is tied now to world peace and is committed to their mission of healing and not killing those they profess to be healing.
He said time has passed in Sierra Leone when herbalists and traditional spiritualists used to be bureaucrats and self consultants in availing their services to politicians who at the end of the day either use or misuse them for self aggrandizement.
Dr. Alhaji Sulaiman Kabba mused that the formation of their union was born of the quest to enhance change in such a manner to ensure that the lives of citizens are preserved.
SLITHU President said a team of vigilantes have been sought to scout unscrupulous individuals availing their services to the will against their mission and vows that they would leave no stone unturned in bringing to book those individuals as quite a number of both local and foreign herbalists that have been practicing contrary to the rules of their establishment are currently being remanded at the Pademba Road maximum prisons, in Freetown.
Dr. Kabba subscribes to the view that Sierra Leoneans too should develop Sierra Leone for which their own beat is to ensure that they have a society that is free of charming arms. He referred to this as a great sacrifice they have offered the country as many who would have lured to cash inducements have frozen such opportunities to celebrate themselves as patriotic Sierra Leoneans, all in a bid to having a peaceful and healthy democracy.
The union, which is fast becoming a household name for its legendary undertakings, has also partitioned a medical alongside a psychic science in the establishment of the allopathic clinical division to provide an alternative diagnosis of diseases and their therapies. This is better explained that diseases and ailments that are not diagnosed in the spiritual realm would be tried in the clinical setting where a laboratory has been provided to ensure life vitality.
