Sierra Leone’s Paralympian excels in London 2012!
Sierra Leone’s only athlete to participate in the 2012 London Paralympics, Mohamed Kamara (pictured), made his country proud by being among the few from Africa to be involved in the final rounds of the 100 and 200 men’s sprint, although he did not win any medal.
Disable International Foundation Sierra Leone – (DIF-SL) founder and CEO Imambay Kadie Kamara who provided support to the Sierra Leone Paralympic team said she’s very proud of the athlete Mohammed Kamara for his zealous effort towards his sport.
“We are all very proud of the olympians from our beloved Sierra Leone to be representing our country to the world. Mohamed was a winner from the time he took to the tracks”, she said, adding: “We look forward to supporting disabled sports in Sierra Leone, we look forward to seeing more athletes compete in four years’ time in Rio Janeiro, Brazil.”
Other members of the Sierra Leone Paralympic team were secretary general of the Sierra Leone Paralympic Committee, Joseph Campbell, PRO Lansana Clay and Coach Mohamed Koroma.
