Ahead of November Elections…PMDC to Raise $2 Million
National Publicity Secretary of the People’s Movement for Democratic Change (PMDC) party, Munir Koroma, has disclosed that the minority opposition party is currently raising the sum of $2 million to property enable the PMDC to take part in the upcoming 17th November multi-tier national elections.
Speaking to this press, Munir Korma stated that the PMDC is currently finding it hard to meet some of the financial provisions of the National Electoral Commission (NEC) after year of internal administrative dispute at the PMDC.
According to the PMDC spokesperson, members of both the Diaspora and in Freetown have consented to help raised over $2 million needed by the party to make an impact in the election.
Munir Koroma continued that the colossal sum of money will be used by the party to put up a rebuses campaign for multi-tier elections so that the PMDC will be able to increase their number of parliament representatives.
Currently the PMDC can boast of 8 MPs after a six month campaign in the 2007 elections.
Another PMDC executive member Roy Kosseh, told this press that the $2 million will be used nationwide to assist candidates in various categories of campaign for the elections; he continued they will use part of the money to assist some candidates in paying the huge nomination fees put forward by NEC.
The PMDC executive members promised to pay the Le100 Million presidential fees put forward by NEC.
