Father Beats Son to Coma
Donald Ray-Macaulay of 37E Kissy Brook, off Black Hall Road, Freetown reportedly flogged his 12 year old son to unconsciousness on Tuesday 28 August at around 21:20 hours.
According to police reports the 12 year old, Charles Macaulay, was sent by a neighbor Rugiatu on an errand. On his return his father Donald rushed at him and swept him off the ground and landed him on a rocky ground where the child sustained injuries on the head and other parts of his body.
Charles’ right hand and foot were fractured and he went into a state of coma as a result of the fall.
A school teacher in the community who identified himself as a concerned citizen reported the matter to the Ross Road Police Division after which the father was arrested and detained.
The matter is currently under investigation and is expected to be charged to court soon.
