Super Des – A Man of Development and Credibility demands parliamentary seat

Reflecting on his successes and challenges the energetic and dynamic Super Des informed this medium in an interview shortly after his declaration for the party symbol, at an impressive ceremony held recently at the APC secretariat in Freetown, he believes that the party will award him the symbol because of the development strides he has undertaken over the years in his constituency, since 2004 when he first embarked on community development.

Super Des maintained that he believes in the leadership of President Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma and his agenda for change, and that is why he has decided to join and support him in his positive action.

‘’I have contributed both financially and morally towards the development of my constituency and the party and I have been engaged in development activities prior to my taking active part in politics,” he boasted.

According to him, he believes in report card politics and revealed that his is visual for all to see and make an informed choice.  “I stand for Development, Equality and Service and I want to leave a positive legacy for posterity’’.

Super Des highlighted that he has constructed bridges in Murray Town and Thompson Bay, construction of the new Murray Town  Roundabout, rehabilitation of the Murray Town school, recreational facility at Aberdeen, PA system for the Thompson Bay Mosque, road rehabilitation in Smart Farm, pipe borne water at Cole Farm and Wilkinson Road, scholarships to deserving students, financial support to various developmental organizations, and support to the Muslim community during the month of Ramadan, to name but a few.

Super Des is a professional logistician with a vast experience in logistics and transportation and he has worked in senior managerial positions for some of the largest distribution networks in Europe.

He was former Sierra Leone Consular Secretary in the diplomatic mission in Rome, Italy until he proceeded to the United Kingdom to further his studies in 1996.  While in the UK he was active in British local politics and served under Lord Boateng in the Brent South constituency as constituency auditor and one time foot soldier for the return of the Labour party to power under Tony Blair in 1997.

He returned home in 2007 and set up several businesses and is currently the Managing Director for Sierra Gem Mining Services.

Mr. Desmond Lewis aka Super Des emphasized that despite the achievements he is poised to bring more developmental projects in his constituency if given the opportunity to represent his people in parliament.  He gave thanks and appreciation to the APC and the executive of Constituency 111 branding him the title Development–oriented man of taste.
