New chancery boss Demba brings sanity to Salone Mission
Head of Chancery at the Sierra Leone High Commission has brought sanity and some dramatic development into the mission with staff members now working assiduously towards the progress of not only the mission, but also the country.
Sahr Prince Demba (in photo) who took up office early last year has not only ensured that workers at the High Commission effectively report for duty, but has also initiated a schedule of duties programme which has since served as a guide for staff workers at the mission to be effective in their respective duties.
Although the mission like other Sierra Leonean missions abroad is seriously affected by the recall of diplomatic staff members and the delay in the postings of their colleagues, Demba has ensured that every department of the mission is effectively functional.
“Diplomatic staff members now attend to meetings which was deliberately absent at the mission in the past,” according to a senior Diplomat, who also charged “I wonder why people have been busy undermining his good works in the past on the false pretext of being ill.”
Apart from his tedious job at the mission, Demba has also succeeded in bridging the gap between the mission and members of the Sierra Leonean community in the United Kingdom more particularly the All People’s Congress United Kingdom Branch.
“He has been very professional in the discharge of his duties and hardly compromise his work with sentiments,” the Diplomat said.
