Ambassador Bassir expresses condolences to the government of Ghana

Ambassador Bassir expressed sincere sympathy to the family, the government, and the people of Ghana for the irreparable loss of the late President John Atta Mills, President of The Republic of Ghana on Monday 23rd July 2012.

“We grieve in solidarity with our sisterly nation and hope that the family, government and people of Ghana, will be consoled, noting his courageous leadership,” she said.  Ambassador Khadijatu Bassir prayed that his soul rest in perfect peace in the Lord.

In another engagement, Ambassador Bassir received in audience the newly accredited Ambassador of Nigeria to Senegal, Ambassador Katyen Catherine Jackden.

The newly accredited Ambassador said the courtesy call to the Embassy of Sierra Leone in Senegal was one of her first to Embassies that have diplomatic ties with her country and it is based on further strengthening the cordial and bilateral relationship between Nigeria and Sierra Leone. She promised her personal and her government’s  cooperation at all times.

Ambassador Bassir thanked her counterpart and expressed similar sentiments towards strengthening the bilateral relationship between the two countries and their peoples.

In attendance on both occasions, was the Head of Chancery, Sahr Johnny.
