Dennis Ojo Williams Declares for Mayor of Freetown
All People Congress (APC) aspirant Dennis Ojo Williams has publicly declared his intention to vie for the position of Mayor of Freetown in the forthcoming November 17th 2012 elections.
Addressing hundreds of people at a public meeting at No 38 Percival Street over the weekend, Dennis Ojo Williams disclosed that he wants to make Freetown a better place using the motto of: ‘Honesty, integrity and transparency.’
He further disclosed that his calling into politics was due to the fact that President Koroma has called on all Diasporas to return home and contribute to the development of Sierra Leone which he is willing and ready to do.
He added that there is no need for Sierra Leoneans to be poor as there are a lot of mineral resources in the country.
He assured the people of Sierra Leone that if given the Mayoral symbol he will create jobs for the unemployed youths who are ready to work. He recalled how he had created employment opportunities for hundreds of youths even before coming into the political limelight. He called on the people of Freetown to give him their support as he is ready to accommodate all.
He maintained that his contribution to the APC Party cannot be overemphasized as he was once the brain behind raising funds which the party used in 2007 when the APC clinched victory.
He said he will not disappoint the people of Sierra Leone as his own Williams alias Mingles is a Williams with a difference. Dilating further he called on the people to vote President Koroma in come November 17th this year for a continuation of his good and better works for the people of Sierra Leone.
Responding Mr. Nipay George thanked Dennis Mingles for the fine sentiment he expressed and called on him to do everything humanly possible to grab the Mayoral Symbol as Maroon Town Development is firmly behind his candidature. “I have no doubt in my mind that you will not deliver as you are development oriented, firm, kind, God fearing, dedicated to the cause of the APC and result oriented”, he stated.
Mr. Jinky Sesay on his part said these are the kind of aspirants they are looking forward to assure him of support of the Maroon Town people.
Mr. Dalton Allen stated among other things that he has heard so much about him and prayed that God in his mercy would favour him to be awarded the symbol as he has no doubt that Dennis Mingles will perform to the best of his knowledge. The ceremony climaxed with singing and dancing.
