Wusum Stars Join Kissy All Stars in the Relegation Zone
The hometown team of His Excellency Ernest Bai Koroma and other heavyweight politicians, Wusum Stars of Makeni, has touched the relegation line embracing Kissy All Stars in the bottom ladder.
Now they are the newest Division One comers having hibernated in the Premier league competition for a period of eleven years in action.
Disappointingly, Wusum Stars have been performing badly for the past three years simply subscribing to the cause of financial constraints.
They fail to honor a match at home to Diamond Stars and performed badly both at home and away matches, sourcing to the same financial constraints to meet their traveling qualification.
After playing 25 matches, they won 6 matches, drawn 4, and lost 15 in both home and away matches, where they scored 14 goals, conceded 28 goals in all matches and bagged 22 points.
They are currently lying 13th in the premier league table a position that is second to last in the relegation zone. Failing to win or settling for a draw would put them at the backyards of Kissy All Stars with 14 points – appearing to be their worse run of the seasons since the league started in 2001.
Wusum Stars were running in the same poor form last season until the current Minister of Information and Communication Alhaji Ibrahim Ben Kargbo came to their rescue at the dying minute.
Meanwhile, two teams are going to be promoted to the premier league next season which means teams in the north should try to scout a place for their representation.
