Over 200 Police Officers for Darfur

Addressing a press conference at the Police Headquarters on George Street, Freetown past Tuesday July 10th this year, the Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of operations AIG Al-Sheik Kamara, disclosed that on or after November 2012, over 200 police personnel will be leaving the shores of Sierra Leone to serve in the peace keeping mission in Darfur, Sudan.

AIG Al Sheik Kamara further disclosed that Sierra Leone Police are doing extremely well in the peace keeping mission in other countries for which the SLP is very made proud.

AIG Kalia Sesay who is in charge of Peace Keeping Operations said another 200 Police personnel will soon leave the shores of Sierra Leone for Darfur, adding that 31 officers has recently left for Somalia.

AIG Kalia Sesay noted that more police personnel will be leaving for other countries in the world on peace keeping.
