Disable International Foundation Sierra Leone Holds Quiz Competition
The charity, Disable International Foundation Sierra Leone (DIF-SL) is organizing a quiz competition in five different primary schools in Freetown to showcase the cognitive ability of children with disabilities, Program officer, Robert Kondema Kargbo has said.
The quiz competition, according to him is held to ensure that children with disabilities are made to be able to cope with their various talents in making informed decisions to enhance their progress.
He said children with disabilities are often discriminated against and are often not included in academic programs such as the quiz competition and other programs that would contribute to their socio-economic progress.
DIF-SL’s quiz competition stakes scholarship star prizes for the winners who must score a grade line of 95%, Kargbo stated, adding that pupils under the age bracket of 6-12 years are eligible for the competition.
The quiz was supposed to have ended July 6 but has been extended to Friday July 20; on such date when the winners are going to be unveiled.
Moreover, the scholarship covers a period of the entire primary school tenure of the winners.
