Usman Boie Kamara visits Romando Village and environs

9-10 July, 2012, Romando Community, Sierra Leone – Alhaji Usman Boie Kamara paid a courtesy visit to the people of Romando Village, Kasiri, Rokupr and Kambia town in the Manbolo, Samu and Magbema Chiefdoms to inspect a self supported school project and rice mill, as requested by the people of Romando Community.  (Photo: Alhaji Usu Boie (forefront) standing in front of his supported UBK Secondary School at Romando Village)

He was given a giant welcome amidst thanks for his gesture in building a monument of development such as the school and boosting the economic viability of the residents by providing a rice mill enabling them to process their rice produce.

Speaking on behalf of his people, Paramount Chief Bai Shebora Lion II of Mambolo Chiefdom commended Alhaji Usman Boie Kamara (UBK) for his commitment in meeting the avowed promises he made during his era of campaign for the flag bearer position of the Sierra Leone People’s Party. The Chief said they were astonished upon seeing a follow up team from UBK as they thought he would never meet his promises as other politicians have done before him whenever such requests were laid before them.

In his statement, UBK lauded the people of Romando and the Manbolo Township for their support towards the rapid pace of the construction of the Junior Secondary School.

Secondly, in an effort to enhance the agricultural productivity in the community he had included in the package a dry floor, Rice Holler machine, and a stand by generator.

He said without the support of the Romando community, regardless of his contribution, he would not have achieved his primary objectives.

UBK continued his thank you tour to Kasiri where he extended thanks and appreciation to the people there for their fullest support of him during his switch over of allegiance to the ruling All People Congress (APC) party from the main opposition Sierra Leone Peoples Party (SLPP).

UBK said his visit was to continue working with his supporters and also to ensure that His Excellency the President, Ernest Bai Koroma wins a first round all victory in the November elections.

To demonstrate the degree of seriousness he has for his allegiance with his new found party, he re-handed his supporters at Kasiri over to the Executive members of the APC in that part of the country.

UBK also received a colourful welcomed at Rokupri and Kambia Town where he continued to admonish the people of Kambia and handed over his supporters to the APC Executive in Kambia.

He called on investors to focus their attention to the Kambia District, especially Samu Chiefdom, noting that the land and rivers are fertile with a variety of essential food items like fish, salt, and palm oil and indisputably stands as a virgin ground for foreign investors, thereby empowering the locals and creating employment as a whole.

Section Chief Pa Alimamy Yecs said he has lived long and understands the policies of politicians in the past, especially on the area of building a school structure for their children to be able to acquire education.  “To me,” he said, “this is a big achievement no other politician has brought to our community before.”  He said he had never come in contact with UBK except through the news but confessed that Usman Boie Kamara has a made a difference from other politicians that always promise and never fulfill such promises.

Alimamy Amadu Jalloh, (aka Tu Foot) chairman of Constituency 39, Ward 129 said he was moved to declare his support for UBK because he believes he is worth following.
