In The Mirror
The feelings can be so hard
That it gets difficult to be glad
They seem so hurting, seem so bad
You thought the world was going mad.
Oh! It gets so annoying, it gets so sad
And it doesn’t seem like a passing fad
But a huge pile, forming a taunting wad.
Wow! The anxiety, for a break, is no clad
To your spirit that is broken, bare and bald!
Excuse me! Have you opened the gift from Dad?
Oh no! It’s a pity you never knew what you had.
David used a stone; he crushed the head of a mighty warrior
Joseph used dreams; he rose to the height of a governor
The widow used a drop of oil; she became a big-time vendor
Moses used a stick; he drowned his all-round tormentor
Solomon used wisdom; he corrected a very crucial error
Esther used her beauty; she won the heart of the emperor
Elijah used flames; he glorified the name of his creator
Daniel used prayers; he shut the mouth of a hungry carnivore
Mary Magdalene used her hair; she anointed the feet of our Saviour
Yes, you can! You can discover yourself, your true picture
And effect a change, if you dare to see who is in the mirror.
