GEBGO to Organize Memorial Matches for Female Players

The Golden Eagles Boys and Girls Organisation based in the USA and Europe in collaboration with WAFA will be organizing charitable friendly matches for their past female football colleagues at the National Stadium Practicing field, Syke Street  and at the Fourah Bay playing field, east of Freetown.  (Photo: CEO of the organization, Aminata Kamara)

The opening match will be played on Sunday June 24 between the Veteran Female Team versus the Youthful Female Team at the National Stadium. The program will start at 3:00pm prompt with match kick-off at 4:30 prompt.

The second match will be played on Saturday June 30 between the same teams at the Fourah Bay playing field at 4:30 prompt.

Golden Eagles Boys and Girls Organization are Sierra Leonean ex-female footballers and athletes who are residing in Europe and the USA.

Speaking to the CEO of the organization, Aminata Kamara, she said she is currently in town to remember her late colleagues namely, Kadiatu Conteh who played for Lioness FC and FC Bock, Grace Brown for prisons, Marie Kay Tay bau for Ascentonian FC, Lioness and Police and Fatmata Malampay for Soccer Queens and Soccer Angels who contributed immensely to the success of female football in the country and who according to her must be respected at all times annually.

We have invited their parents in the charity matches and proceeds from the funds raised are going to be shared amongst their beneficiaries.

She said as a way to show how important the program will be ,  important personalities such as the Minister of Sports, Hon. Paul Kamara, acting F.A President-Joseph .S. Keifala, Deputy Director of Sports, Pamela Williams, Brigadier Kestora, Fred Claye, WAFA President – Abdul Kanasieu, FA aspirants Rodney Michael and Isha Johansen and many others.  Aminata Kamara calls upon all to come in their thousands to support their program.
