Sierra Leone consoles Saudi Arabia over death of Crown Prince

Sierra Leone joined hundreds of diplomats and expatriates at the Jeddah Palace last night to offer its condolences to the people of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia over the death of their late second–in- command, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Naif Bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior.  (Photo: the late Crown Prince Naif Bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud)

Represented by Sierra Leone’s accredited Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Permanent Representative to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Ambassador Wusu B. Munu on behalf of His Excellency the President, Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma, the Government and people of Sierra Leone, and on his own personal behalf, conveyed to His Majesty the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz Al- Saud, the bereaved Royal family, the Government and people of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathy for the irreparable loss.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Saudi people during this difficult time of mourning. The late man was an astute leader who worked assiduously for the progress and development of Saudi Arabia and for the good of mankind in general,” the Ambassador wrote.

In a similar engagement earlier on Wednesday, 20th June 2012, the Ambassador accompanied by the Information Attaché were amongst hundreds of diplomats and expatriates received at the Riyadh Governorate by the Governor of Riyadh, His Royal Highness Prince Sattam Bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud.

In offering condolences on behalf of his country to the Governor, the Ambassador said: “The late man was a great leader and wise statesman who dedicated his life to serve his religion, people, country and humanity.”

Meanwhile, the President of the Sierra Leone Nationals’ Union (SLNU), Uthman Kargbo has also on behalf of his Union expressed sincere condolences to the Royal family and the people of Saudi Arabia for the loss.

Kargbo described the late man as a “pragmatist and resolute leader’.

Prince Naif who was also heir apparent to the throne passed away in a Geneva Hospital last Saturday, 16th June, 2012.
