South Africa 2013 – We’re ready for Sao Tome… Barlay

Nickname Big Sammy, Samuel Barlay (in photo), the Sierra Leone International, who plays for Ravan Baku in Azerbaijan has said Leone Stars have better weapons to take all three points away from Sao Tome & Principe this Saturday in the race for South Africa Cup of nations 2013.

The former Malmo FF midfielder who accounted for Sierra Leone’s equaliser in Malabo against a tough opponent as Equatorial Guinea believes they are very much confident for victory this Saturday without any complacency.

He said:  “The camp is in high sprits, we know what the nation is expecting from us, we’re ready and if we play our game victory is certain, there is a lot to play for in both the African Cup of Nations and the World Cup qualifiers.

“For me, it’s enough to say nothing will be appreciated but victory especially against Sao Tome, not because they can’t compete against us, it is because we want victory more than them” he told Sierra Express Sports UK.

Barlay 25 was very much influential for Sierra Leone against South Africa in  2008; he won the penalty for his country which was converted by former Inter Milan striker Mohamed Kallon to defeat South Africa in Freetown.
