Adonkia Headman Boosts Ward 333 Football Clubs
The headman at Adonkia Village in the peninsular region of Freetown, Albert Gibao Lavay donated assorted items of football equipment yesterday June 11.
The two teams that benefited from the donation include Area Friends FC of Goderich and New Jersey FC of Adonkia.
Albert G. Lavay who will be aspiring as councilor under the ruling All People Congress (APC) party said most football clubs have lots of constraints and as Team Manager of Adonkia Football team, he thought it fit to help them, hoping to include other teams in the community who have not benefited from his gesture.
Receiving the gifts, the Chairman of Area Friends FC, Osman Kamara and Head coach of New Jersey FC, Abubakarr Conteh thanked Mr. Lavay for the gesture and assured him that they will put the equipment into their rightful use and purpose. Both teams’ executives were present at the handling over ceremony.
Meanwhile supporters of both clubs sang songs of praises for the wonderful things Mr. Lavay have been doing for them at ward 333.
