The Sun Seemed to be Shining Brighter
As Sierra Leoneans marched towards the November 2012 polls, the sun seemed to be shining brighter onto a perfect day for the ruling All People Congress Political Party (APC).
Many are matching the rate of political cross-over by senior opposition bigwigs as a silver platter for the Ruling Party come 2012; it is no longer a poll of surprise as the flow of political defections are now a sacred culture to the APC.
Time an again opposition members have questioned the leadership of President Ernest Koroma but have failed to establish a strong line of criticism theory.
The high rate of cross carpeting by opposition dignitaries within the political hierarchy of this country points towards a greater day in waiting under the leadership of Ernest Koroma. It is a fact worthy of note that the recent political marriage between Alhaji Usman Boie Kamara and the APC is testament to the good leadership ability of President Ernest Bai Koroma.
For the first time after our colonial masters left the shores of this land, the political emancipation of Sierra Leoneans are singing praise songs of one man who many say shares similar national dreams and visions of a unified country with many other patriots.
It appears obvious that President Koroma’s ‘Agenda for Change’ and the manner in which he has been articulating development strides and channeling ideals of the country’s image have been the main thrust behind his good name.
Sierra Leone is now considered as one of the biggest workyards in the West African sub-region due to President Koroma’s infrastructural programs that are visible around the country.
The massive revolution in the energy sector is quite enviable, as time and again we have been labeled the darkest nation in sub-Sahara Africa, but with Koroma’s passion to turn around the fortunes of our war torn country, he stands today in contrast to those criticisms in the past.
The shinning sun which is the symbolic emblem of the APC seems to be shining in the right direction as the President’s political strategy is clearing the slate of acrimonious politics once associated with the political guru Siaka Probyn Stevens.
His level of infrastructural development has far surpassed the regime of that man who history once regarded as the man who achieved most in building the country.
