Africell celebrates 50th anniversary with Red Cross Society

Africell has joined the Sierra Leone Red Cross Society on Sunday May 27 in celebrating their 50th anniversary at the Aberdeen beach west of the capital Freetown.

President of the Sierra Leone Red Cross Society, Edward T Gandi said during the occasion that the Sierra Leone Red Cross Society is humanitarian and voluntary organization working with the sole aim of empowering humanity.

He said they have been observing their annual events upon which Africell has been sponsoring them. He said to mark this year’s 50th anniversary the cellular company supported them with a raffle draw that has dished plenty prizes including household furniture, mobile phones +500 unit  and the star prize was a cow which Abu barker Kargbo a student of Mirajudeen memorial preparatory school situated at the East part of Freetown, won.

Edward T. Gandi noted called on all members of the Sierra Leone Red Cross Society to join hands together with Africell by way of patronizing them and see how they would continue in sponsoring developmental programs.

 Joe A Bangura of cooperatives offices of Africell said the Sierra Leone Red Cross Society is a beneficiary organization to the people of Sierra Leone. He said Africell is helping through their partnership to develop to help change the live of people and children in Sierra Leone.
