In Lunsar… hero’s welcome for DIF-SL Director
Disabled persons in the Northern town of Lunsar converged to give a rising welcome to the Executive Director of Disable International Foundation –Sierra Leone, I’mambay Kadie Kamara.
Madam Imambay Kadie Kamara made a visit to the township after a sister organisation invited her to meet with people with disabilities in their chiefdom.
He shared words of courage with them and admonished the residents to stop discriminating against persons with disabilities in their communities.
Imambay said she shares her passion with the disable persons as her late mother was a disabled person adding that she would do all within her zest to uplift the moral standard of disabled persons in the country.
Madam Kamara applauded efforts of His Excellency President Koroma as his government has laid the foundation since it enacted into law, the Disability Act that gives the disabled rights and responsibilities as equal citizens in the land.
Speaking on behalf of the disabled persons in Lunsar, Mr. Foday Kabia said the lives of the disabled persons are deplorable in that part of the country. He said six out of every ten disabled person in the township are without proper shelter, medication, food.
Speaking on behalf of the women, Fatmata described Madam Kamara’s visit as timely. She expressed hope that they will live to see their future dreams with her intervention.
