Swedish coach hails new technical staff

Sierra Leone’s Leone Stars foreign based coach, Lars Olof Mattsson has showered praise on the country’s newly appointed home-based coaches, John Keister and Lamin Bangura just two days after working with them.

The Swede who was officially unveiled to the squad believes he now has the best technical team than the previous pair of Christian Cole and Prince Toe.

Unity is strengthen… the technical team

“These two guys are fantastic,” Mattsson said and further revealed he was the one who made a request to the Football Association for two young coaches who will train the local based players.

“With just two days of work I have found out that they are interesting guys, who are willing to work as a team and we all share the same philosophy. They are also good on the pitch work and with the players,” he said.

The Swedish coach further revealed that he will allow both coaches to take full control of the two matches whilst they monitor the performance of the players to possible select six that will join the already invited 16 professionals for the 2013 African Nations Cup and the 2014 World Cup qualifiers.

According to Coach Mattsson, he will not be too bothered over the outcome of both friendly matches but more the performance of the team and the individual players.

He said: “The result is not of much interest to me but the performance.  It is an important game for them, but I want the team put on a good performance.”
