Non Violence Gala commences in grand style
The Grassfield Non-Violence and Awareness Raising Gala commenced on Wednesday April 11th with Wilberforce FC taking a narrow lead against Grassfield FC in a 1-0 score line. The lone goal was provided by James Beattie mid second half.
A fascinating first half of play ended 0-0 before Wilberforce FC proved to be the better side to clinch the three points of the day.
Grassfield FC goalie, Daddy Pottoh, made several saves in both halves to deny Wilberforce FC the goal mouth but Central Parade and Premiership current goal-king James Beattie broke the deadlock with a mid half goal.
SLPP’s Western Area Chairman, Brima Keita was guest of honor at the kickoff ceremony. He told participants and spectators to refrain from violence.
Co-sponsors Mr. Thomas Daddy Brima who will be vying for Mayorship, and John .B. Tucker who also will be vying for Parliamentary seat under the opposition Sierra Leone Peoples Party (SLPP) appealed to all that violence is not the best solution in politics and urged all to vote for aspirants who are developmentally oriented.
In today’s match, Grassfield FC will engage Hill Station FC.
